![]() But true friends fly by her side and even into the heart of her fear. Her talent seemingly breaks as each of her fixes somehow go terribly wrong. Tink loses her hammer and it's a very special hammer. These books do such a good job of balancing real problems that kids face (such as whispers and stares while they walk past) with the beauty and kindness and moral integrity we seek to instill in our kids (and live up to ourselves). I love how the fairies each grow a little bit through each story, and Tink here grows to overcome embarrassment and fear. They complete the delightful experience, immersing the reader into a peaceful little world where time stands still, community comes together, and every problem has an answer. ![]() The illustrations are just as much part of the story as the words are-and what fabulously enticing illustrations they are! Honestly, the illustrations for this series are quite possibly my favorite illustrations for any book anywhere. Rereading this makes my heart happy in a way few things do. Of course the series must start with the beloved and classic Tink! ![]()
